ARTIST STATEMENT
As the son and grandson of pastors, I create conversations between experience, the visceral, and the spiritual. The bold colors that define my work are not mere aesthetics; they embody emotion and energy. My 14-year military career shaped my creative voice through a global lens. It gave me the courage, discipline, and constant curiosity to explore different media and forms of creativity. Resilience, identity, and connections are provoked in the layers, materials, and substrates of a desperate search to reveal all. I invite contemplation, drawing on the materials and symbols of my journey, which echoes the construction and deconstruction inherent in both art and life. My process welcomes voids for dialogue and connection. It is a ritual of healing and understanding. I hope that in my art, others will see a reflection of their own stories and experiences. I strive to capture the essence of what it means to be human - complex, colorful, and full of meaning - fostering a sense of connection and understanding among viewers.
